Darlington - Clora F. Hitch, 75, died in a Logansport hospital at 3 a.m. Wednesday. She had been in ill health the past two years. Mrs. Hitch was born Sept 25, 1886 in Darlington, daughter of William H and Adda Vencill Murphy both natives of Indiana. She married Dec 24, 1905 in Darlington Fred G. Hitch who died March 16, 1938. Mrs. Hitch and her husband lived on a farm near Shannondale before moving to Darlington where they operated a meat and grocery business. Mrs. Hitch was a member of the Darlington Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, William H. Hitch of Thorntown and a daughter, Mrs. Donald Booher of Rt 1, Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. George Walters of Crawfordsville; 3 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harry. Funral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Thorntown. Rev. Robert Hayden will officiating and burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Darlington.
